Controllers are generally of two types, Single Entry and Double Entry and it starts from 3 inches and 24 inches and above. 

Controllers are operated through Outlet Control Gear Fittings, which consist of GI FLOAT, CI FOLCAN, RATE SETTER, FLOAT RASING GEAR, RECTANGULAR WEIR and ORIFICE GEAR FITTINGS.

In Inlet and Outlet Chamber, SLUICE GATE may be used as per approval of the client.

Each filter is generally designed to deliver the water at a certain rate per hour. When the bed of sand gets choked up with impurities this rate of discharge falls down and it is necessary to wash it to regain its original clean condition and the stipulated rate of discharge. In the filters provided with loss of head indicators this choked up condition is shown by the increase in the loss of head so that when it reaches a certain figure, generally about 6 feet, the filter requires washing. When the crude water does not contain much suspended matter the loss of head is very little and the filter continues to discharge at the requisite rate of flow for days together. In such cases, although the loss of head has not risen up sufficiently it will still be advisable to wash the filter after about 3 days. If this is not done there is a chance of putrefaction setting in of the organic impurities, held over the filter and spoiling the filter and filtrate. In the tropics, therefore, whatever the condition of the filter bed it should be washed at least twice a week.

When the plant is in operation only for a part of the day it is advisable to wash the filters at the end of the day’s run. This prevents putrefaction of organic matter in the bed when it is idle.
